Techdreno — HDPE Drainage Pipes
Fast and efficient drainage using Techduto NBR wrapped in geotextile

HDPE drainage pipes for agricultural, road, and sanitation projects. Diameters ranging from 50 to 250 mm, with a service life of over 50 years.
The Problem
Waterlogged soils and a high water table compromise agricultural productivity and the stability of infrastructure projects.
- Up to 40% loss in productivity due to excess soil moisture
- Areas rendered unproductive by seasonal flooding
- Erosion and structural damage to road surfaces and slopes
- High costs for corrective maintenance
The Techdreno Solution
Subsurface drainage system featuring Techduto NBR and geotextile that efficiently collects and conveys water.
- Reduction of the water table within 72 hours after installation
- Reclamation of previously unproductive areas
- Service life exceeding 50 years without maintenance
- Quick installation using conventional equipment
What sets Techdreno apart
More flow, no clogging
Self-regulating intake, driven by soil water
Self-cleaning, never clogs
No geotextile sleeve required

We also carry original Bidim geocomposites and geotextile mats, available in both sleeve and open-weave formats, for use in drainage pipe installations. Also known as: drain pipe, corrugated drain pipe, HDPE drain, perforated pipe, drain hose.
Also Known As
In the market, the same product appears under different names depending on the region and the supplier: drain pipe, drainage pipe, drainage tube, drain hose, or perforated duct. All of them describe the same function — capturing and carrying water from the subsoil. The technical and commercial name for this product at Techduto is Techdreno: the same corrugated HDPE pipe with perforation (or micro-slits, in the KC variant) sized for drainage, no matter which term you search for.
Techdreno KC® × lines with Bidim geotextile sleeve: which to use
The KC line's micro-slits drain and filter at the same time — the other lines use Bidim geotextile as a sleeve to reinforce filtering.
- Sandy or coarse-grained soil, where the risk of fines entering is low → KC line, no sleeve, faster and cheaper installation.
- Fine, silty or clayey soil, with higher risk of slit clogging → standard line with Bidim sleeve, reinforced filtering and longer drainage system life.
- Uncertain about the project's soil → the Bidim sleeve is the safer option; the extra cost of the sleeve is small compared to the cost of reopening a trench.
Why KC skips the sleeve
The KC line's micro-slits work as a passive valve: at peak rainfall, pressure forces water in; when the water table drops, the slit stops operating. The shape retains heavy grains while letting silt through, draining and filtering at the same time — a function that would normally require a separate geotextile sleeve.
Why the other lines use Bidim
In finer soils, the Bidim geotextile sleeve reduces the risk of clogging (from finer soil particles) and extends the drainage system's service life — it's the same geotextile Techduto manufactures and sells separately, including in a ready-to-install sleeve format over the pipe.
Drain pipe, gravel and geotextile: how to build the complete system
The classic French drain system combines three elements: the perforated drain pipe (collects and carries water), a layer of granular material such as gravel (helps water reach the pipe) and a geotextile sleeve (filters fine soil particles, preventing them from clogging the system). Techduto manufactures two of these three elements — the Techdreno pipe and the Bidim geotextile — and also produces Drainage Geocomposite, which in slope, retaining wall and platform projects can replace part or all of the gravel layer, reducing excavation volume and construction time.
What comes in each roll — complementary fittings
Full line of fittings, from the official Techduto technical catalog.
- Guide wire — makes it easier to run cables or insert fittings without special tools.
- End cap — available in 100, 125, 160 and 200mm; also works as an anti-vandalism seal for the exposed pipe end.
- Sealing rings — o-ring type, in EPDM or Nitrile rubber.
- Coupling/splice sleeve — 90 ± 2mm socket length (200 ± 4mm total), used to connect pipe sections.
- Warning tape — marks the installed line for future excavation work.
Standard and load: drain pipe under a highway
In the SN 8 stiffness models, Techdreno withstands highway loads under NBR 15073 and DNIT 093/2016 — the standard set by the federal agency responsible for Brazilian road infrastructure. This ensures performance even under pavement with high traffic demand, not only in agricultural or residential applications.
Drain pipe inside a french drain trench
In larger projects, the corrugated drain pipe is usually the collector component inside a french drain trench — a trench filled with granular material (and, optionally, geocomposite or geotextile on the walls) that intercepts and carries groundwater to a discharge point. Techdreno plays exactly this role: it collects the water reaching the trench and carries it away from the area that needs to stay dry.
Why Techduto and not a reseller: since 1986, when it built Brazil's first corrugating machine by hand, Techduto has designed and manufactured its own line of corrugated pipes — it doesn't resell, it produces. Today, with factories in São José dos Campos (SP), Recife (PE) and Primavera do Leste (MT), the engineering behind Techdreno and Drainage Geocomposite is entirely its own. See our full history →
BF and TS lines: the other Techdreno perforation variants
Besides the KC line (no sleeve, see comparison above), Techdreno is also manufactured in the TS and BF variants: TS is the unperforated drain, used as a conduction line — it carries water already collected by perforated sections to the outlet point, without collecting water along its own run. BF has special perforation sized for liquids more viscous than pure water, such as agro-industrial effluents.
