Highways and Roads

Deep drainage and cable protection for road infrastructure

The Challenge

The Brazilian road network is the 4th largest in the world. Water infiltration in the base and sub-base of the pavement is the main cause of premature deterioration, generating billions of dollars in maintenance costs.

Techduto provides corrugated HDPE pipes for longitudinal and transverse drainage, as well as cable protection and crossings. Our products meet the NBR standards and are specified by road engineers throughout Brazil.

With lightweight, resistant and quick-to-install HDPE, Techduto is the safe choice for concessions, duplications and road works — up to 60% lighter than concrete.

Challenges and Solutions

How Techduto addresses each challenge in Highways and Roads

Erosion and pavement subsidence

Techdreno NBR/DW drains base and sub-base water before compromising the road subgrade.

High-traffic lane crossings

Techduto DW with SN8 stiffness supports heavy traffic loads without permanent deformation.

Unprotected signaling cables

DutoSeal Tape and NBR protect signaling cables and ITS from moisture, rodents, and mechanical damage.

Projects with tight deadlines

HDPE pipes are 60% lighter than concrete — transportation and installation up to 3× faster.

How We Apply It

Techduto methodology in 3 steps

1

Diagnosis

Analysis of road project, forecasted traffic and existing drainage plan.

2

Project

Specification of diameters, stiffness (SN4/SN8) and drainage layout according to DNIT standards.

3

Execution

Supply with scheduled deliveries and technical assistance on site.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Highways and Roads

For heavy traffic (trucks, trailers), SN8 is recommended. For shoulders and secondary roads, SN4 is sufficient. The Techduto DW meets both specifications according to NBR 15073.
Yes. HDPE is 60% lighter, faster to install and has a longer lifespan. It does not corrode, does not crack and maintains watertightness for decades. It is specified by DNIT as an alternative to concrete.
Techduto manufactures corrugated HDPE pipes from 100mm to 1200mm in diameter, meeting from shoulder drainage to large highway crossings.
Yes. Our pipes meet NBR 15073 and are accepted in DNIT specifications for federal highway works.
