The choice of material and drainage system has a real and measurable environmental impact — on soil, climate, and the production chain. If your company has sustainability goals, Techduto can help you achieve them. If not, here’s why you should consider it.
Drainage that deepens roots — and sequesters carbon in your soil

Few producers associate agricultural drainage with the environmental agenda. The connection, however, is direct and measurable.
In poorly drained soils, excess water eliminates available oxygen and confines roots to a superficial layer. The decomposition of organic matter without oxygen generates methane (CH₄) — a gas with a global warming potential 28 times higher than CO₂ over a 100-year horizon (IPCC). With Techdreno installed:
- The aerated soil allows roots to be 2 to 3 times deeper, accumulating organic matter in the sub-surface layers — sequestered and maintained carbon in the soil
- Eliminates anaerobic conditions that release methane — replacing dirty decomposition with aerobic decomposition
- Reduces heavy machinery traffic on firm soil → less compaction, less diesel per hectare
- Increased productivity per hectare → less pressure to deforest new areas
PEAD: the material that doesn’t go to the landfill — and lasts 75 years
The choice of material is an environmental decision before being technical. PEAD (High-Density Polyethylene) is the most recyclable thermoplastic in the pipe industry. Without recycling, it persists in landfills for centuries. With recycling — which is what we do —, it returns to the production chain with almost entirely preserved properties.
- 100% of production waste is reprocessed internally — no factory scrap goes to landfills
- In 2025, we launched recycled compounds with post-consumer PEAD: pipes removed from fields return as certified raw material
- Each recycled ton consumes 33% less energy, 90% less water, and emits 66% less CO₂ than virgin resin
- With a lifespan of 75+ years, a Techduto pipe replaces 2 to 3 generations of alternative materials — avoiding multiple disposal and replacement cycles
| Material | Lifespan | Recyclable? | CO₂ in manufacturing | Environmental risk |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PEAD (Techduto) | 75+ years | 100% | Low | No risk (inert) |
| Concrete | 40–50 years | Patial | High (cement) | Alkalinity |
| Steel/iron | 30–40 years | Yes, with cost | Very high | Corrosion, oxidation |
| PVC | 50–60 years | Difficult (chlorine) | Medium | Plasticizers |
Infrastructure for the Brazilian solar energy industry
Brazil has some of the largest photovoltaic parks in the world. Techduto is part of the infrastructure that makes them possible.
- Over 1.7 million meters of pipes installed in Brazil’s largest photovoltaic parks
- Supplier to the assemblers of the largest photovoltaic plant in Latin America
- Pipes with high-performance UV protection — specified for decades of direct solar exposure
Manufacturing close to consumption — cleaner logistics

Corrugated pipes are bulky products. Long-distance logistics have a significant environmental impact. Techduto’s strategy is to produce close to where it is sold:
- São José dos Campos – SP: headquarters, main unit, R&D
- Recife – PE: serves the Northeast with local manufacturing since 2012
- Petrolina – PE: São Francisco photovoltaic hub
- Primavera do Leste – MT: inaugurated in 2024, serves the productive Midwest
Producing where it is used reduces the distance traveled by hundreds of kilometers — with a direct impact on the emissions from your project’s transportation.
How to use this data in your sustainability report
If your company has ESG, decarbonization, or GRI/SASB reporting goals, Techduto can support you with:
- Recycled material statement — percentage of post-consumer PEAD recycled in the products purchased
- Product emission factor — CO₂ equivalent per ton of PEAD produced, for scope 3 calculation
- Post-consumer recycling program documentation — for circular economy reports
- Product environmental fact sheet — characteristics of inertness, non-contamination, and lifespan
