Agropecuária Sutal: 7+ Years of Continuous Drainage Supply

For more than seven years, Techduto has supplied one of the country's largest agricultural drainage projects: Agropecuária Sutal, owned by Thomas Peixoto, in Costa Rica, MS. What began with one-off orders in 2018 grew into an ongoing supply relationship.

The challenge

A large-scale farming operation in Mato Grosso do Sul needed to solve the same problem year after year: heavy soil holding water past the ideal point for planting, pushing back the sowing window and limiting productivity across part of the area. It wasn't a one-off project — it was a recurring need, harvest after harvest, across different plots on the property.

The Techduto solution

Techduto became the go-to supplier of corrugated PEAD pipe (Techdreno line) for the project, delivering on an ongoing basis as each new area entered its drainage phase — more than 3,000 hectares reclaimed over the course of the relationship.

Fun fact

Before buying from Techduto, the grower sourced pipe from another manufacturer — and when installing pipes with a geotextile sleeve using the traditional method, he noticed he was getting about 10% less material per roll. When he measured Techduto's rolls, he found the opposite: about 20cm more in each one. The reason: the material has natural shrinkage, and Techduto always builds in a margin so the customer receives the right amount — never less.
